This is a pretty good podcast if I do say so. Anyone who knows me or has listened to this podcast knows that I am fascinated by the brain and how it works.
But this is a tricky subject to discuss because you have to consider the idea that you are not in charge of your brain. For example, if you were really in charge of your brain why can't you tell it that you need to lose 50 pounds so make that chocolate cake look disgusting. A nice brain would do that for you. Instead your brain is constantly at work making connections, coming to conclusions and routing your life for you whether you realize it or not.
(If you happen to be high, don't read the following sentence because it will freak you out.) So in essence you need to tell your brain, through your brain to rewire itself to stop making bad connections and evaluations and make better ones. If you don't your brain just goes on it's merry way making haphazard connections.
That is why you need to practice some sort of control over the brain. Meditation has always been brought forth as a way to rewire your connections and change the way you look at life. A way to bring peace and understanding.
So this podcast is about how you can go about bringing both physical and mental change to your life. Not goofy Deepak Chopra stuff but stuff that is tangible and especially techniques you can use to get better strength and fat loss results.
Also there is a new segment called "You Disgust Me". The inaugural episode focues on these internet A-holes who are harassing the Food babe. Whether you buy into the Food babe philosophy or not, she is trying to do a good thing by exposing the strange and bizarre world of chemistry,,,,,er I mean modern food. If you don't like her, don't read her blog. If you want to argue with her bring some facts to the table. But don't threaten her or try and demean her. Adults making fun of her name? Really?
